Although Quakers in Romford have only been in the current Meeting House for six decades, member Ian Hutchings researched and wrote this 13 page article of their history from 1684.

Quaker Wednesday

Quaker Wednesday takes place on the first Wednesday morning of every month at Wanstead  Meeting House.   Friends, visitors and enquirers gather for coffee and conversation from 10.30 onwards.   Meeting for Worship is from 12 to 12.45, followed by a shared lunch.   Everyone is welcome, and can attend for as much or as little time as they wish.   It usually finishes around 2.15.   Next dates:  2nd July and 6th August

We next meet, should nothing occur to prevent, at 10.00 for 10.30 am on Saturday 4
October at Westminster Meeting House, with a parallel young person’s meeting. The
meeting will be followed by a “soup and cake” lunch, and then an opportunity to take
part in joint outreach.
